Quick note – Before publishing this, I found out that Burly’s is temporarily closed due to a fire in the kitchen. I’ll let you know when I find out they are open, as that would be a perfect time to go support them! – End note.
Earlier in the summer, everyone was talking up the new Burly’s Burgers, Fries, and Shakes on Madison just down the street from Trolley Stop. Of course that meant that I would have to go weigh in on the proceedings, because I figure that if everyone is talking about a place, then it is worth talking about. I have since eaten there a couple more times (which means that I liked it!), so I definitely needed to go back and get these photos up!
Here is the farm burger, complete with a fried egg on it! Basically, what Burly’s comes down to is that they use a well-seasoned, good piece of meat and they cook it up just right. There is nothing fancy about a good patty on a white bread bun, but there doesn’t need to be anything fancy about a great hamburger.
They have a bunch of different varieties of burger (farm burger, bacon burger, blue cheese burger, etc), and the couple that I have had have all been excellent. I’d also lean towards the garlic fries if I were ordering again, they added a little pizazz to a pretty simple fry.
Fortunately, for those of you that dare venture to a place called Burly’s BURGERS, Fries, and Shakes, they have a non-hamburger option.
BLT on toast. Love this place. Haven’t tried the shakes yet, but I will, and when I do, I’ll let you know. Get on over to Madison and get your burger fix on, simple and good. See you there!
